Susan Lowes, Ph.D.

Dr. Lowes is an education researcher at Teachers College, Columbia University. She has directed evaluations of multi-year projects funded by the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Dept. of Education, and state departments of education. She has also co-authored papers and presentations on online STEM learning. Dr. Lowes is an Adjunct Professor in the Program in Communication, Media, and Learning Technologies Design at Teachers College, teaching a course on methodologies for researching technology in educational environments. She received her Ph.D. in Anthropology from Columbia University for work in Antigua, West Indies, where she currently lives.

Piet Human, Ph.D.

Dr. Human is a professional Math educator with many years of experience in conceptualizing, operationalizing, and managing reform projects in mathematics teaching at school, district, state, and national levels. His work includes curriculum writing, teacher training, and mentoring mathematics educators for and in leadership positions. He has also co-authored several series of mathematics textbooks in South Africa, in addition to being the lead writer of the Ukuqonda math curriculum, in a collaboration between the Ukuqonda Institute and the South Africa Department of Basic Education.
